PICKNICAMANIA MUSIC AND PICNIC FESTIVAL
Free!!
Saturday, Sept 11, 2010
in lovely Silver City, New Mexico
12 noon - 8 PM
Come and share music at Gough Park with local musicians and out of towners. Bring your picnic and your instruments for an unforgettable afternoon of Jamming. While our town’s fledgling festival, Pickamania is taking a year off, we will celebrate with an informal, totally acoustic grass roots festival. In these times of economic stress, making our own music is one way we have to fight back. There will be no sound systems, just groups of people playing music all around the park, and eating/sharing picnics. So mark your calendars with this date and tell your friends. |
EVERYONE LOVES A PICNIC! PICKNICAMANIA! |
If you are interested in helping promote this event, please get in touch with Ken and Jeanie. We will put it on Facebook, and in some of the New Mexico publication calendars.

Folk Music Open Mic Night at O'Niell's Pub
Last Tuesday of every month: From 7:30 to 9:30 PM.
Our NEW monthly celebration of everything Folk will be hosted by performers Chris Ravin and Nancy Hills. Every last Tuesday of the month we encourage you to come and share your songwriting, bluegrass, old-time, or anything acoustic with us and our patrons - go ahead - it's an open mic! |
Announcement:
Wanted: a few more singers for our mostly a capella group, Ad Hoc Consort.
We sing wonderful old songs from the European tradition, both courtly
and folk, 12th century or so through 19th century and the occasional 20th
century song that has the right attitude. We tend to practice once a week
when we have a gig coming up, alternating sessions between Santa Fe and Albquerque, since we have members in both towns. |
