The New Mexico Folk Music and Dance Society - FolkMADS - is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting and teaching traditional music and dance. FolkMADS sponsors Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Taos contra dances, Megabands, concerts, camps, and other special events.


Want to take the Rail Runner Express train from Albuquerque to Santa Fe to catch the dance at Odd Fellows Hall?

You'll be an hour early for the instruction at 7:00 p.m., and you'll have to miss the last 40 minutes or so, but no driving!

Traveling 5 zones is $4 one-way, $6 roundtrip (Reduced rates on Saturdays!)

Buy your tickets on-line or from yellow-vested Rail Runner ticket agents with hand-held ticketing machines on the platforms prior to departure or on the train after boarding, using debit or credit card (no American Express) or cash.


Travel between Downtown Albuquerque, located on 1st St. south of Central and north of Lead, and South Capitol, located a couple hundred feet east of the Odd Fellows Hall.

Train #508 departs Downtown Albuquerque at 4:31 p.m., arrives South Capitol at 5:58 p.m.

From South Capitol station, walk westward to the southwest corner of the parking lot, cross Cerrillos Road to Odd Fellows Hall.  DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!  Skip the last couple of dances, head back across Cerrilos...

Train #513 departs South Capitol at 10:05 p.m., arrives Downtown Albuquerque 11:35 p.m.

Note: the 10:05 p.m. train is the final Southbound train of the night, so don't miss it!


Want to come down from Santa Fe to Albuquerque? Sorry, the current Saturday schedule (dated Jan 10, 2009) has the last train heading north to Santa Fe departing Albuquerque at 7:46 p.m. So make a friend in ABQ and stay the night!
